This is a  brand new 00 Gauge (1:76 scale) Dapol vent van, depicting 'N.W' or the North Western Railway as depicted in the Rev W. Awdry's books 'The Railway Series', later popularised on TV as Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends.  This van has been designed to match my existing NWR coal wagon.  Compatible with all OO/HO Hornby and Bachmann Thomas products.

In Awdry's lore The North Western Railway was formed in 1914 and from nationalisation on 1st January 1948 until privatisation in 1997, it was the North Western Region of British Railways. The railway's motto is "Nil Unquam Simile", which is Latin for "There's nothing quite like it".

In the Railway Series the Island of Sodor is connected to the mainland at Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, and so these trucks include the marking 'Return empty to Barrow-in-Furness'.  These ventilated vans would be ideal for the movement of fresh meat of fish, such as those used in 'The Flying Kipper'.

Choose from one single van or a rake of four at a reduced price overall.  Limited availability.
