An interior view of the dugout occupied by officers of the 105th Howitzer Battery, Belgium: Flanders, West-Vlaanderen, Ypres, Hill 60 - 27 August 1917.

Left to right: Captain Leslie Russell Blake MC Polar Medal (died of wounds on 3 October 1918); Lieutenant David Ballantyne Ikin; Major Herbert Norman Morris, Officer Commanding.

Australian photographer and adventurer Frank Hurley was a master of light and shadow. He participated in a number of expeditions to Antarctica and served as an official photographer with Australian forces during both world wars.

I chose this photo to test colourising an image with a clear light source (the fire) which really tested my skills. Shiny objects like the tin helmets pick up the light and some colours appear completely different to a photo taken in daylight,

High quality glossy print. Frame not included. Depending on size chosen, some parts of image shown may be cropped.
