The Horror of the Holocaust in Colour
"Never shall I forget the little faces of the children, whose bodies turned into wreaths of smoke beneath a silent blue sky" - Elie Wiesel, Holocaust survivor. Today is Holocaust Memorial Day, marking 75 years since the liberation of Auschwitz by the Soviets, and to mark this anniversary I have colourised a selection of photos taken throughout the first few months of 1945, as the wider world became fully aware of the horrors of the Nazi holocaust. Those Magnificent Men: Everyday Heroes of the RAF in Colour

In my line of work as a photo restorer and colouriser of historical photos, I often come across very interesting stories that impel me to dig deeper and find out as much as I can about the people in the pictures, and what they did with their lives. This article is a bit different

Two Tigers
Photos of a father and son, taken 30 years apart. Arthur James Langran served with the Leicestershire Regiment during the First World War and his son Peter Francis Langran served with the same regiment during the Second World War. The Leicestershire Regiment were famously known as the “Tigers” after their service in India during the early 19th century. From 1925 the regiment was granted the badge of a royal tiger, which can be seen on AJ Langran’s cap in his portrait. The
